SFU BPK or Waterloo Hon Science

Hi! I am currently deciding between Waterloo Honours Science and SFU Biomedical Physiology and would appreciate any advice.

My long-term goal would go to dental school after my undergrad but I would like to be realistic in the case it doesn’t work out, and I just complete a B.S.

For SFU it would be cheaper to commute and practical but I am worried about grade deflation in comparison to schools like UBC. It would be harder to achieve a higher GPA which is considered for dental school applications.

For Waterloo I know it is a stronger school and opens more doors up even in optometry or pharmacy. I would have the full university life but at a higher cost. I am worried if my GPA would suffer as well.

My main concerns are:

- Which school would be better for undergrad if dental school is my main goal?

- Is there an evident difference in the school I go to?

Any insight is appreciated!!

i got rejected from ubc science and am grateful to be doing bpk at sfu in the fall but am unsure where it will take me. 🥲🥲 any insight is appreciated!!

i know ubc is not everything, but ubc dental school is the end goal. should i try transferring after first year at sfu or just complete my undergrad? and how hard would that be??

i constantly beat myself up for not getting in directly after high school, i will likely see classmates enjoying ubc where im worried for my social life at sfu. also the grading i’ve heard is horrible for any pre-med or pre-dent. sfu would be safest compared to langara to ubc for me though.

anything helps 🙏
