Antidepressants and Vaginismus helpp!!!

I have anxiety and depression, and my psychiatrist prescribed medication for me. The side effects cause a lot of drowsiness. I don’t want the medication to affect my mood while using dilators idk

Has anyone had experience taking this type of medication, dealing with depression, and working on vaginismus with dilators at the same time?

Any advice? I’m starting antidepressants in a week and I don’t know what to expect.

Vaginismus or Hymenectomy?

Hello!
This is my situation. I have been married for two years and I have not been able to insert anything. I have tried using dilators, and over time I have developed a fear of inserting things into my vagina. Last month I visited a pelvic floor physical therapist and bought dilators. However, I cannot get past the entrance because my hymen seems to cover the entire opening, and right in the center I have a protrusion that hurts when touched. I think I may have a microperforate hymen. I get my menstrual periods every month, and I have been able to see a small opening, even smaller than the size of a cotton swab, at the lower part, but that is all. I cannot insert even the smallest dilator because the protrusion is right in the center. I have tried using a lot of lubricant and lidocaine gel.

So I have been wondering: what if my issue is more related to the shape of my hymen and not vaginismus? Because I cannot insert even a finger or the smallest dilator it feels completely closed except for the tiny hole where my menstrual blood passes through.

The first time I went to my gynecologist, he told me everything looked fine with my hymen. So now I am wondering if I should seek a second opinion from another gynecologist to see whether I might need a hymenectomy, or if I should keep trying and pushing through with the dilators.

Any recommendations?

Advice on inserting dilators, HELP!

Hello!
27F, I need your advice on inserting dilators. I use a lot of lubricant, intimate lidocaine cream, and deep breathing. But every time I try to insert even the smallest dilator, I freeze up and my hand won’t go any further even though I want to do it. Help !!! how can I get past this?

I also want to mention that I get my menstrual period regularly, and my doctor told me that everything is fine with my vagina. However, it seems like my hymen almost completely covers the opening, because with the lidocaine I was able to touch a little inside, and that whole membrane feels hard and protruding I feel a burning sensation, but that’s all.
