Why do I dry up when I still want sex? Could it be my partner?

Long post alert 🚨

Ummmm can you all enlighten me because I genuinely don’t know what’s going on 😭
When I’m having sex, I’m usually really aroused at first. But after the first few minutes, I start to dry up even though I STILL want to have sex and I’m mentally into it. It’s frustrating because I feel like my body is suddenly not cooperating with how I’m actually feeling.
I’ve tried bringing it up to my gyno, but he basically brushes it off like, “that’s normal.” And I understand that vaginal dryness can happen, but it’s affecting my sex life and I don’t want to just accept that I’m not enjoying sex as much as I could be.
Here’s the part that has me wondering: could it possibly be the guy?
We used to have AMAZING sex when we first met years ago. Then we were apart and didn’t see each other for a few years, and now that we’ve started sleeping together again, things just feel different. At first I thought maybe it was just me, but now that I’m typing this out, I’m wondering if there’s something about him/the chemistry between us that my body isn’t responding to anymore.
Do you think it’s possible to be mentally attracted and still want sex, but have your body respond differently because the chemistry or attraction has changed? Or am I overthinking this?
I hate that I dry up when I genuinely still want to keep going. Has anyone else experienced this?
