I got my bf the wrong gift, how do I fix this!!
His birthday is next month, he mentioned when we first started dating he wanted a tom ford cherry scented cologne so I wanted to get him that.
Went on a trip a while back and got 50ml Cherry Smoke for around 500aud at the duty free section. I tried to ask him in a round about way what the name of the one he liked was cus there’s three cherry scent ones but he didn’t bite, so I got him the one I thought he would like.
A couple days ago we went to a bar where they served a Smokey cherry cocktail and I brought up the cologne without telling him I got it cus I wanted to confirm it was the one he wanted but he said the one he liked was Lost Cherry.
So now I have a very good expensive cologne I can’t refund and nowhere for it to go. I’m not sure I can get the one he likes now cus it’s 400aud for 30ml and my budget is relatively tight now.
I was thinking I give it to him anyways along with some clothes from polo or Ralph Lauren which are brands he likes but I feel so bad. The thing is I understand how frustrating it would be because it’s like so close to perfect but it’s just kinda off.
I don’t have a lot of time for shopping until like two week before his birthday ( I don’t want to get his gifts that late in case of any mishaps but I might need to) because of assignments and I’m scared I’m gonna stuff up again because I still don’t have a great grasp on his taste in clothing.
I’m pretty distressed about this so any advice is appreciated.
