Lute is a massively confused lesbian and the show is completely setting her up with Emily.
Think about it. Lute was literally bred and manipulated by Adam. He is the Original Man, a total toxic frat-bro who views women as completely subservient by design. Because Lute has only ever existed under his warped, patriarchal worldview, she's been programmed to think she has to fall in line and center men. She doesn't even know who she is outside of Adam's shadow.
That is exactly why she is so unhinged and obsessed with Vaggie. It is pure repressed queer tension. Lute doesn't know how to process actual attraction to women, so it bleeds out as violent obsession and fanaticism. Rage is the only language Adam ever taught her.
Now, here is the smoking gun for why she's going to end up with Emily. On the surface, the bloodthirsty zealot and the pure, happy angel seem like opposites, but look at the casting. Vivziepop is a massive Wicked fan. She literally cast Jessica Vosk
one of the most iconic Broadway Elphabas to voice Lute. And Emily? She is heavily coded as Glinda the Good Witch. She’s bubbly, high-pitched, and literally has bubble powers.
In the musical theater world, the Glinda and Elphaba pairing is legendary. Vivziepop intentionally casting a famous Elphaba to play the dark, angry angel directly opposite the bubbly, Glinda coded angel is not an accident. She is completely setting up that "opposites attract" dynamic. Lute is heading for a queer awakening, and it's going to be with Emily.
