The gender movement and all these communities feel like OCD

It’s just…so absurd? like this fixation on gender. A person living normally doesn’t even think of their gender like we all do. It’s just like a body part—like an elbow. When was the last time you thought of your elbow?

All these communities feel like OCD. This one included.

It’s also a big reason why I’m very skeptical of transition. You could say “sure, you’re more likely to see the loudest ones.” But, that’s not the case. EVERY trans person I’ve met online and irl has fixated on their gender or being transgender. Even the most passing ones. It tells me that whatever wound they’ve had hasn’t healed. If you go over to the trans subs and just click on the profiles 9 times outta 10 it’s just gender fixation.

If transitioning is the fix, then why don’t people just move on and live life afterwards?

It genuinely reminds me a lot of body dysmorphia. Like there’s no point at which an anorexic person becomes so satisfied with their bodies that they say “I’ve finally achieved it.”

The way we treat this wound is so weird. I think cause of how political and misunderstood this all is is why we’re here and why a lot of mental health problems still pervade the trans community. Would you give an anorexic person a diet plan to affirm them?

I watched one interview with this super passable trans woman and she said she had unwavering confidence. But why is your insta feed and everything about being transgender and you exposing yourself online for men for cheap compliments and attention?

I don’t even care if this is controversial or gets downvoted cause there’s no world where fixating on gender and thinking about it multiple times a day isn’t some kind of OCD or mental health problem. Transitioning doesn’t seem to solve this. It’s 90% cosmetic and looks fade. Self-love comes from within. If you suffered severe burns, or became blind, or disfigured in some way. Would you still love yourself? Would you still continue taking hormones even if you couldn’t see yourself, hear yourself or even recognize yourself?
