Escalating drugs
Hey, I’m currently struggling with an addiction to gabapentin and Ativan. At first, I was only taking 900mg of gabapentin and 1mg twice a day as needed. I had a manic episode and when I get manic nowadays I go euphoric. So I was chasing highs. Smoking weed and taking other stuff that I’d rather not say. In the process, I raised my gabapentin dosage to 3,000 daily with 4 mg of Ativan daily. Now I don’t know how I’m still walking but the euphoria and sedation I received from this was amazing. So when the mania subsided after they introduced a low dose of lithium, I still kept the high doses. My lithium levels are only 0.3. But I don’t wanna stop taking these medications. They allow me to function. I go to work and I do school and I manage.
I guess what I’m worried is this sustainable. I can’t imagine not taking gabapentin and Ativan. Any advice helps.
