Erik Kripke is a insecure hack
I cannot believe this is how the final season went. Its very obvious now that this show was carried by the original writers from season 1, Anthony Star, and Karl Urban.
Once the OG writers all left before/after season 3, the entire show turned into erik kripke making everything into a one way political allegory about how bad the right and trump are, and ofc dick and ass jokes. Hell even 2 of the biggest and most serious moments this episode had to have them instead of anything of actual substance. (Frenchies funeral and homelander begging). We couldnt even have homelander go evil superman on everyone because homelander is trump and trump is pathetic idiot who isnt intimidating so now homelander has to be that too. Instead we get a couple quick cut punches, kimiko has her arya stark moment, and thats it. Its fucking stupid. Ive seen better fights on YouTube channels with 10k subs.
Erik Kripke could have chosen to continue the show in the direction the OG writers set up. He could have spent the budget on bigger set pieces and fights, instead he chose to spend it on celeb cameos, a supernatural reunion, and a salary bump for the terrible writers.
Instead of honoring the chracters and the amazing nuanced performances the actors gave that brought them to life and made them believable, his ego and insecurities came out full force and they were are devolved into the most basic versions of themselves. Any nuance they had before, gone.
All the bad guys are either idiots or a nazi allegory. All the "good" guys basically get their perfect ending with no consequences except frenchie. Why the fuck does sister sage deserve a happy ending, but Deep had to die in a stupid and unrealistic way. Leaving him alive, broken and alone would have been far more fitting. And did they really need to have Butcher go dark side last season finale, only to have him heel turn back to the boys, only to have him go back to "the darkside" 10 minutes before the show ended. Also wtf was the point of Ryan. Why even have him in the show
Thank god A-train died when he did before the writers could ruin him too.
Dont even get me started on all the dropped and wasted plot lines that went no where on this show, and all of the ridiculous inconsistent power scaling. Cant believe this is the man responsible for supernatural S1-5. But I have a feeling back then he was surrounded by good writers who would tell him no. Never watching anything he makes again.
Fuck you Erik Kripke, I hope Vought Rises fails and you are never hired to run another show, and then you can go back to watching CNN and making all your trump allegories and fart jokes on twitter. Its what Clara would want.
