Why I Think Homelander Could Survive a Nuclear Bomb

I think Homelander could survive a nuclear bomb. Vought's contingency plan was Ryan, not an atomic bomb, a hydrogen bomb, or a neutron bomb.

Another detail is that Maeve tells Butcher about a weapon that could kill Homelander because they believed it had killed Soldier Boy. That option wasn't a nuclear bomb, which probably means they had information suggesting it wouldn't work.

Also, Stillwell said that no weapon could kill him. Some fans argue that she could have been exaggerating, but Butcher could have taken into account the possibility that she was lying.

I've also seen many realistic arguments explaining why a nuclear bomb should kill him, but we shouldn't forget that this is fiction, and power inconsistencies are common in fictional stories.

Personally, I think he would survive a nuclear explosion, but he would be seriously injured.

There's also the scene where Soldier Boy traps Homelander inside the enriched uranium chamber. There are three storage racks visible, which suggests there was much more enriched uranium than what would be required for a single nuclear bomb.

Shouldn't Marie remember this and be able to apply it herself?

It's been established that when Godolkin takes over your body, you can still see everything that's happening. For example, Doug knew everything about Godolkin and Marie because he was still present. They are essentially sharing consciousness in one body, with Godolkin being the driver.

So when Godolkin presumably used the max version of Marie's ability, why couldn't she just remember how he did it and/or apply what she remembers? Am I misunderstanding how this works? Because the idea of Marie still not being a pro with her powers, according to Starlight, makes no sense for this exact reason. She basically just got a visual model on how to do it.

Like Doug, even after being separated from Godolkin, still had his full memories of when they were in the same body, so it's not like she forgot; it's just never mentioned by the story.

If Homelander was still trained in this scene?

How different would this scene have been if the depowred Homelander was still trained in hand to hand? Now granted I still think Butcher would have won simply by the fact homelander would be caught of guard by the pain he feels from getting hit because he has no powers, the only difference is butcher would have to put in more effort.

The difference between a good character and a bad character.

Marie moreau is an excellent example of a black female lead character, compared to Riri Williams in the iron heart show she's more tolerable at the least.

Riri is a self obsessed, entitled, narcissistic person who thinks the world owes her everything just because she's black. She has done nothing on her own to warrant this mentality, she didn't even earn her armor, her suit was just parts that were given to by her college. She hasn't earned anything by her own right, she was given everything she has and she fucks up every opportunity she has because she thinks she can do better if she had Tony's billions of dollars when he could make something 10 times better than she could with 20 bucks, even the actress for her is an intolerable narcissistic personality who had the belief than oron heart would surpass tony in popularity, which saying that to millions of people who love tony stark is basically shooting yourself in the foot.

Marie on the other hand not only has a more interesting backstory but has earned her way into the university and doesn't think she's owed everything just because she's black or because she has a tragic backstory. She's funny, charming, compelling everything a good character needs to be appealing, and she has flaws to overcome and she makes an effort to actually do that and she acknowledges her own mistakes as well. Marie having to go through so much effort to become as strong as she is is a good storyline and shows that's she willing to work for her power without expecting everyone to just let her win just because.

Why do people deny the fact that Noir is a Batman parody?

Just look at the rest of The Seven:

Homelander: Superman

Maeve: Wonder Woman

The Deep: Aquaman

Mr. Marathon: Barry Allen Flash

A-Train: Wally West Flash

Lamplighter: Green Lantern

Translucent is a loose adaptation of the comics’ Jack From Jupiter, who parodies Martian Manhunter (had to be done because the show dropped the storyline where Vought claimed some of its heroes were of alien origin, in the show the propaganda instead appeals to American evangelicals and claims that powers are a gift from God)

Starlight: Stargirl

What’s the one major member of the Justice League who’s missing? The one who wears all black? Certainly not Snake Eyes or Deadpool, like some fans claim Noir is supposed to represent.

Yes, Tek Knight is *also* a Batman parody, a popular character can be parodied more than once in the same media

hot take: people who criticise the s3 finale are deeply media illiterate beyond help and completely missed the entire point s3 was building up towards

edit: s3 of the boys not gen v

every single post that bashes the s3 finale is completely wrong both in terms of logistics of character decisions and also in their understanding(or lack thereof) of the subtext/message that s3 was going for.

What things would you have liked to see in season 5 that were perhaps not so necessary but you personally would have liked to see

Season 2 of the boys RUINED Homelander and it's annoying how some fans can't see it.

Let me start by saying media literacy shouldn't just be "I understood the subtext". It should also contain recognizing bad writing, tropes and bad creative decisions. It should be "I understood the subtext but the subtext is bullshit and poorly executed".

The worst take that I have heard from this fanbase is "Homelander was always a pathetic loser, he was never smart" in order to defend the bad writing of seasons 2 to 5 which is just baffling and factually WRONG!

Here's what Homelander did in season 1:

When Translucent was missing, he immediately locked in to find him, flying over the city to search for him. Modern HL would send Deep to do this job, if he even realized a member of the seven was missing at all.

After the flight 37 incident, he quickly shifted the narrative to put the blame on military. Modern HL would whine to Ashley to spin this shit because she is the spin doctor and he can't do that himself for some reason.

He heard that politician blackmailing Madeline in episode 1 and immediately took initiative to protect the company secret. Modern HL would just stare intensely and do nothing probably.

After Mesmer snitched on the boys, he immediately searched them up and figured out their entire operations through the season. Trump lander would make Sage do that and receive a report from her because he himself can't do that anymore.

He realized the inconsistencies between the stories of Madeline and Vougleboum, figured out something was off and punished them both for lying to him about Ryan. Trump lander would just ...... eh ....... do nothing I guess. He wouldn't even listen to the stories properly I suppose.

And the BIGGEST OF IT ALL. Even before the season began, he orchestrated the entire supe terrorist thing. He secretly gave V vials to A-train to give them to terrorists so the supes can have an excuse to get into military to protect US from the danger he himself created and it worked perfectly and the supes got the military contracts Brilliant! Hell, his decision kickstarted the entire series as A-train hit Robin when he was spreading those vials. Remember that stupid scene from the end of season 4 when Sage suddenly shows up and says "All according to the plan" ? Homelander pulled that way before and in a well written and effective way. He didn't need Sage, he himself was smart and cunning.

Then season 2 came out and it flanderized the hell out of him. From the very first scene of the season 2, he starts drinking milk like a baby and throws a tantrum to Ashely over a blind guy. Season 1 HL wouldn't dismiss Blindspot for being blind when he knows he is still capable of killing targets effectively but we can't show that HL is SMART, we have to show how egotistically stupid he is because ERIC KRIPPLE is a hack fraud!

And remember that supe terrorist plan that worked very well in season 1? It was actually a BAD plan this whole time and Homie was stupid for doing that, you see? Suddenly Stan Edgar comes and tells him how stupid he is for doing something that benefited the company at the end. Literally in the very next episode, the image of the Vought is saved because they killed a supe terrorist and Stan and Stormfront take credit for it but IT WAS HOMIE'S PLAN. You can't scold him for that plan and then benefit from the very same plan. Stan didn't even acknowledged this nor did he thanked Homelander at all.

We also got that "Homelander doesn't understand how social media manipulation works" plotline so Stormfront can come and teach him how "memes" work! FUCKING KILL ME PLEASE.

I don't even want to talk about the whole "He will snap" BS since all that build up led to nothing so we all can universally agree it was a bad creative decision in hindsight. Instead of making him crazier, we could have had Season 1 Homelander for 5 seasons. Just imagine if that actually happened. The boys could have been the next breaking bad but Eric Creep key doesn't want to make a good show, you see!

And stop fucking bringing up that "He was beefing a baby in season 1" defense. That was like two or three scenes at max. He was just annoyed of that baby, he wasn't "beefing" with him. He didn't even kill the baby after killing Madeline because he wasn't insecure about it. Modern HL would just cry in front of Stillwell and shout "You love baby more than me" like a toddler. Season 1 HL knew to keep his emotions in check.

In conclusion, Homelander from season 1 and Homie from season 2 to 5 are completely different characters. If yoh genuinely can't tell the difference between the two and how they flanderized him then I don't know what to say anymore.

Soldier Boy could've had a genuinely compelling arc this final season. Imagine him swallowing his pride and working with Butcher again, but only on one condition: that he gets a role in raising Ryan to make sure the kid is "raised right."

I love what causes his death is completly opposite in the comics vs tv show

Comics!A-Train died specifically because of how vile he is, not having any remorse for what he did to Robin and later SA Starlight by what pushes Hughie to kill him. While Tv Series!A-Train dies because of his character development, choosing to swerve to avoid killing the women rather than run through her.

This scene .. do you think she was being real ? I really feel like Vic wanted to take Marie all the way with her. I want to believe it wasn’t just ulterior motives and this was a moment of humanity. But it’s Victoria so

The way Zoey was so happy to meet her and Neuman to me at least was saying I can get you in the seven when I’m elected I can save you. Or did she just want an another powerful popper on the payroll.
