Fellow Espresso Series 1 for Small Coffe Shop?
Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about opening a very small specialty coffee shop / coffee bar and I’m trying to be smart with the initial investment instead of going straight into a super expensive setup.
Right now I already own:
- a Breville Bambino
- a Fellow Opus
I’ve been looking at the Fellow Espresso Series 1 bundle with the Gen 2 Fellow Opus and the total would be around $1800 USD.
The reason I’m considering it is because even a single Rocket Appartamento is already around $1500 USD by itself, so the Fellow setup seems like a cheaper way to start while still looking clean and modern for customers.
Volume at the beginning would be low. Probably:
- milk drinks
- pour overs
- maybe 10-15 drinks/day initially (i wish)
I know this wouldn’t be a “true commercial” setup, but for a super small startup coffee bar, do you think this is a reasonable way to start?
Also:
- should I instead keep using my Bambino for now and invest in a better grinder first?
- has anyone here actually used the Fellow Espresso Series 1 in a low-volume commercial environment?
Would love honest opinions before I spend the money.
