if i want to take ap calc ab next year, but have not taken pre-calc how can i do that?

im transferring schools and at my old school you could simply take an exam to opt out of that course and immediatly go to the next level course. ive lived outside the US my whole life and i might be moving to a public high school there and im not sure at all how this works at schools there? do i take an online course, do i just complete the khan academy course? ive seen vhs courses that give you certification but they seem expensive and i tried those before and they werent the most helpful. i took ap stats this year and alg II freshman year. if anyone can help at all that would be amazing!!

how do i actually stand out as a psych/neuroscience applicant? pls help a rising junior.

hi! my dream schools are stanford and the top ucs, and i want to major in psychology or neuroscience on the pre-med track.

i've worked hard academically (around a 3.9 uw/4.5 w GPA -- it would've been a 4.0 unweighted however my old school did not count an A as being from 90%-100%. Since I am moving I'm not sure of my new school would be willing to change that on my transcript?) and have been involved in leadership and ecs that i genuinely care about.

i dont wanna write out all my stats here but i really want help because i feel so lost. something else is that ive been living outside of the US so I dont have easy access to awards or scholarships or hackathons or competitions. my school didn't even push us to participate in olympiads or any type of region competition. I wanna do research but have no idea where to start or what to do. i really need advice.

the problem is that i'm moving, so a lot of the activities and leadership roles i've built over the past couple of years won't continue since they were tied to my old school. it honestly feels like i'm starting over at the worst possible time since junior year is really important and im gonna end up starting with nothing. thats why i wanna develop a really good passion project.

i know i still have time actually that's a lie im running out time, but i feel like i'm missing that one thing that makes an application stand out. i have a few ideas for projects related to psych/neuroscience, but i have no idea if they're actually worthwhile or how to turn them into something meaningful.

if anyone has helpful advice id love to hear it.

asking for advice for a scoring a 3 and what to do

hi! I got my AP scores back today. Overall, my scores were good, but I got a 3 on AP Physics 1, my dream uni is Stanford, and I can't stop thinking about it. My freshman-year AP scores were great, so this one feels like a huge setback. My major will likely be psychology and neuroscience.

My dream is to get into a T20 school, and ever since I saw my score, I've been spiraling and convincing myself that I've ruined my chances. I know admissions are holistic, but it's hard not to feel like one bad score has changed everything.

For context, I have around a 3.9 unweighted / 4.5 weighted GPA, solid extracurriculars and leadership, and I'm planning to continue strengthening my application over the next year. I haven't taken the SAT/ACT yet.

Has anyone here gotten into a T20 (or know someone who has) despite having a 3 on an AP exam? Did you submit the score or leave it off? More importantly, did one AP score actually matter that much in the admissions process?

I'm looking for honest advice and experiences. I know I still have time to improve my application, but today has been really discouraging.

Thank you to anyone willing to share.
