WHY SO MANY BABIES?
Every gaming community says they want innovation until the second a developer actually tries something different.”
The amount of whining over Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is getting ridiculous. Half the complaints are from people acting like the game already launched broken when we’ve barely even seen real gameplay.
“UE5 is gonna ruin it.”
Okay? People said the same thing about literally every engine transition in gaming history. Unreal Engine 5 isn’t automatically bad because some other studio optimized their game poorly. If the original HLL stayed on UE4 forever, the exact same people would complain that the game looked outdated and stagnant.
“Helicopters will ruin the immersion.”
You mean helicopters… in Vietnam? The war most famously associated with helicopters? Some of you want “realism” until realism includes things you personally don’t like.
“Team17 is killing the franchise.”
Meanwhile the same people were screaming for years that the original HLL needed new content, engine improvements, better systems, jungle maps, expanded warfare mechanics, etc. Now they’re finally trying to evolve the formula and suddenly everyone wants the exact same 2021 gameplay loop forever.
And the funniest part is people pretending the original game is being deleted. It’s not. WWII HLL still exists. Nobody is forcing you to uninstall it and fight in Hue City.
The community has gotten addicted to doomposting. Every announcement turns into:
- “dead game”
- “cash grab”
- “devs are clueless”
- “this will fail”
Then six months later everybody’s playing it anyway.
Constructive criticism is fine. Constant hysterical crying over trailers, engine names, and imagined problems is exhausting. Some of you need to stop treating every development update like a personal betrayal and just wait to see actual gameplay before writing dissertations about how the franchise is doomed.
