Patch 1.2 & Roadmap Reveal drops this week

The Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Roadmap briefing has been pushed back to later this week while final preparations are being made.

In the meantime, we’ve intercepted some interesting intel. A new shipment of weapons seems to have landed at Cam Ranh Port... Any idea what it could hold?

And that’s not all. Patch 1.2 deploys this week. 🪖

Read about it in yesterday's dev update: https://www.reddit.com/r/HellLetLooseVietnam/comments/1vodwgl/dev_comms_thread_launch_updates_hell_let_loose/

Where is it? We need it….

Hey devs….wheres da M14???

I know it’s probably gonna be additional content, but the US needs it ASAP. 5.56 out of the m16’s feels pretty puny sometimes.

I’m really missing the player statistics from the first game

Explosive kills, mine kills, team kills to name a few. The stats tab looks so bland at the end of the match. Are there any plans to add these?

People that drive the riverboat to the next objective and TURN OFF THE ENGINE are the MVPs of HLL Vietnam right now.

My team mate in my squad took a river boat and sailed ahead to the next objective, we spawn there covertly, put an Outpost down and took over the objective and flanked the enemy in the south where their garrison & OPS were. 10/10 recommend and even better when the Commander drops supplies so you can put a garrison down just in case the river boat gets blown up!

For me the Riverboat respawn point is what has replaced the "AirHead" ability Commanders had in Hell Let Loose we no longer have in HLL Vietnam where you can paratroop soldiers into combat. The US Transport Helicopters certainly can ferry your troops back and forth to capture objectives insanely quickly but I find the Pilots will rarely turn their engines off to be able to spawn on them so Riverboats are the new "AirHead" in Hell Let Loose Vietnam. The NVA can do extra dastardly things like construct Tunnels & AA-Guns on your River Boat spawn point on the river so getting garrisons going nearby is worthwhile for any amphibious assault!

Hell let loose vietnam needs solider voice lines like the battle field franchise.

I find it interesting that a milsim game doesn't include soldiers from any faction speak like they do in the battle field franchise, if this is supposed to be the most realistic gaming franchise we need a little chatter lmao. Battle field 1 went out especially for giving voice lines for the Italians, Russians, Germans, and Turkish and giving proper accents for the British, American, and new zealand troops. It can start off small like they talk in R6 or something, I just want to hear like "covering fire" "suppresive fire" "throwing smoke" "reloading" or call outs like in bf1 the solider verbally says "watch out, tank nearby", or "enemy sniper!" All in their respected languages. Like Voice lines for dropping ammo or medical supplies just the little stuff would be nice. Because when I first played hell let loose ww2 I thought they were voice lines for the soldiers lol and I was shocked they weren't.

Graphics on Console

For the love of God, fix the dang graphics. I don’t know what it is but there’s no way the game was play tested on a console prior to launch by anyone at T17.

90% of the time the graphics are so bad it’s almost like I’m looking at my screen underwater through a screen door.

After a month delay and a console play test, I expected the graphics to at least be optimized into a playable state. This is embarrassing.

Game has been out a few days and community servers are already level capping at 40+ when most players haven't yet hit 20?!?!?!?

Helicopters and how to use them

Coming from the original HLL I immediately was hooked on being a pilot in HLLV, did some hours on the training course so I don`t ram entire squads into the ground by accident.
These are the things I figured out by now:

First off, one thing that is fun to do but quiet ineffective is circling the front objective with a gunner on board strafing the ground forces. The gunner can only spray and pray without much precision, the ground troops will soon ignore it and the gunner will get killed within a minute.

What you can safely do as an inexperienced pilot is fly a transport behind an objective, land and TURN THE MOTOR OFF. This will create a helicopter spawn that works like a boat spawn and allows your team to attack from a different direction.

Next up is actually be a transport: If there are no garrys or when a point is taken you can carry a squad to the next point. If you are quick, you can do that before the NVA has boots on the ground there. You need your landings on lock for this so you don’t have to hover for a minute before the blueberries can safely leave the helicopter.

If you are in a well coordinated team you can do an improvised airhead. Two choppers, two squads and an LZ behind enemy lines. Suddenly there are 12 guys and ideally a new garry in the NVA`s back.

The most effective Helicopter is the Support Helicopter, though. As a Logistics Officer you can ask for one from Commander and since they are relatively cheap you will usually recieve them quickly. They can only carry the pilots and will NOT MAKE A SPAWN POINT when landed.
Take it where ever a garry makes sense, land, drop the supplies, build a garry and return to a base to refill. Rinse and repeat. You can set up a network of garrys anywhere on the map in a few minutes by yourself.

That`s what I learned in three nights of flying, I still try to figure this out so please correct me where I`m wrong and let me know what your tips and experiences are.

Also I will play music during the transfer. Because, come on, everybody was hoping for the cinematic moments of Hueys over the jungle while Fortunate Son plays (and there is much more great music from that era to be enjoyed!)

See you in the trenches!

PSA for newcomers: for the love of god play defense.

90% of my warfare matches go as follows

Cap a point and everyone rushes the next objective leaving me and the two other members of the squad who actually communicate to defend, while the others bum rush the next objective (also please use your mics and communicate).

Barely start to cap the next point when we start to get overrun at defense.

By the time people make it back, it’s already too late and we’re fighting for our lives. Have to fall back to next point, where we’re lucky to have a Garry built. Repeat cycle until game is lost.

And if it’s not this situation, I’m on the other end and it’s an absolute steamroll which isn’t particularly fun either.

I totally get it, defense in theory is not as fun. But personally, some of my favorite matches have been defending points and sending out squads on Garry/OP search and destroy missions. I also understand that a lot of the new player base hasn’t figured out the strategy of warfare. We live and we learn.

See yall in the battlefield (hopefully on defense)

There are WAY too many objects that block bullets that shouldn't

Thin wooden railing with spaces? Blocked bullets, seems very hit or miss with windows inside of buildings as well, there aren't even any bullet holes/markers like HLL had for HLLV either.

And I already saw that bridge clip blocking MG fire just ridiculous.

Just played my first match as returning HLL player... This is the most fun i've ever had playing a game.

Started NVA and everyone on the team is screaming in the worst asian accents i've ever heard saying the funniest things ever and I cannot stop laughing all game. I've been waiting for a good Vietnam game for years and this scratches every itch I had.
Genuinely thank you HLL devs from the bottom of my heart. I have no complaints

Shoutout TyroneShalone you're the GOAT
