Rapido ride charged me extra after the ride(hyderabad)
Today I was going from moosapet to Yashoda hospital via rapido auto. When I booked my auto(not priority) the price showed rs 144 during the estimation and I was fine with paying that. My ride started by 9.30am and I reached by around 9.50am. When I went to pay for the ride, the price was now rs184. Surprised I asked the driver to confirm and it showed 184 in both of our screens. I reluctantly paid for the ride and started to chat with the customer care. For first time they said that my fare was the same as estimated amount. So i took screenshots of the app showing the estimated amount and paid amount, and tried again but this time they said that due to surge prices my final amount increased. From what I understand surge prices show up when there is high number of people and auto availability is less(which in on itself is unethical to increase prices during rush hours), but increasing prices during the ride is just highly unethical and greedy. I get paying more for priority booking and rush hours bookings getting higher prices, but during the ride where the price was shown is just an estimate. What kinda stupid system is this?
