Starting to Doubt Myself After a Year of Job Searching in ServiceNow

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some honest advice from people working in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

I graduated with a B.E in Computer Science last year and have been working with ServiceNow since then. I currently hold the CSA and ITIL certifications, completed a 6-month ServiceNow internship, and regularly practice on my Personal Developer Instance (PDI) to improve my skills.

Despite this, I'm still struggling to land a full-time ServiceNow developer/admin role as a fresher. Most openings seem to require 2+ years of experience, and it's becoming difficult to understand what I'm missing.

At this point, I'm confused about whether I should continue investing my time in ServiceNow or start learning another technology stack altogether. I genuinely enjoy working on the platform and have spent a lot of time learning it, but I'm worried about career growth and job opportunities at the entry level, and how much more time i can give.

For those who started their careers in ServiceNow:

  • What helped you get your first full-time role?
  • Which skills made the biggest difference besides CSA?
  • Should I focus on scripting, ITSM, CMDB, integrations, UI Builder, or something else?
  • Is the ServiceNow market currently difficult for freshers, or am I approaching my job search the wrong way?
  • What should i do in order to improve and land into this industry. Request your guidance very keen to step up.

Any advice, guidance, or reality check would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.
