Desperate
Hello, we are new to MCAS (we being my husband- I’m doing all I can to try to help find him relief) He’s 6 weeks into a terrible ongoing episode, and only his 2nd ever. We only just found out about a week ago that it’s likely MCAS. We first thought an allergy. Some days are debilitating and after so many cycles of swelling and peeling, his skin is tissue thin and oozing fluids. it definitely seems to be exasperated by the sun. The doctor put him on H1/H2 blocker to start, and ketotifen while we wait for labs and stool test. I desperately got on here to ask when it starts to help? We are both so defeated and losing willpower. I‘m at a point where I cry daily witnessing his pain and helping him slather on aquaphor and mentally he’s pretty checked out and losing hope. I guess we are just wondering if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Will our lives ever be the same? Any advice or tips?
