How do you translate a founder’s abstract “vibe” into a functional brand system?
I’m hitting a massive roadblock on a current project.
The founder knows exactly what the brand’s mission, voice, and vibe are in their head. But the second we try to translate that abstract vision into a structured brand document and concrete digital product assets, everything gets muddy.
We keep getting completely stuck on the balance between what should be locked down (rigid brand codes) vs. what needs room to breathe across different platforms.
For those of you who build and package identity systems regularly:
- What’s your go-to framework for pulling that abstract "vibe" out of a founder’s head and pinning it down?
- How do you prevent a brand system from feeling too restrictive while still maintaining absolute consistency?
Trying to refine my process and would love to hear how you tackle this hurdle.
