So we're doing cutaways of our ships? I present: the unfinished USS Enterprise NX-01
Over two (or three?) years ago I began building the NX-01 using deck plans that (iirc) have been released for the series' 10th anniversary. However studying at University has become more important, as such the project has been paused. I'll probably continue next year and when I'm done it will be available on the Steam Workshop.
As some of you will probably be curious, a short FAQ:
How do I circumvent the way too low physical shape limit for such a project?
- Multi-Grid: I have one grid per deck, they are connected with connectors and rotors (why rotors? To adjust the distance before connecting the connectors). (this is also the reason that the armory, which is on deck F, is gone from the current version of deck F).
Where are the deckplans available?
- For free at www.cygnus-x1.net, there are also way more Star Trek deck plans available at www.cygnus-x1.net.
Is airtightness planned?
- Not anymore. I was initially unaware of the physical shape limit and started out doing everything airtight. Even the hangar doors are vanilla custom airtight (merge blocks + hinges + geometry that is airtight but can be seperated by deactiviating the merge blocks)
