Employment Lawyer Advice
I worked for a company that was sharing personal information about me, I was also involved in 3 separate unique conversations with coworkers that all involved derogatory comments about race.
I requested a lawyer via union for the investigation citing poor investigation standards and larger issues such as people with access to personal information sharing the info, and workers in position of power abusing the power they had. I was told no to a lawyer because of the relationship between the union and ownership being trusted for over x amount of years. This was all via phone.
I ended up quitting due to feeling unsafe, feeling pushed to quit and personal information being shared.
Do I get a lawyer or paralegal?
Is there a governing body that oversees any issues like this?
