Frustrating Experience with Deckard Build and Battle Policy
Hello all, I wanted to share a frustrating experience I had today at Deckard. I was elected to play at the store and read all the details that were provided to make sure I was well informed before going. Please see screenshots below:
What I took away from the posts was that check-in started at 2:30pm, and that the cut-off time for both elected and walk-in players was 2:45pm. Based on that understanding, I arrived at 2:35pm, believing I was still comfortably within the stated time window.
When I got there, I was informed that my elected slot had already been given up because the cut-off time for elected players was supposedly 2:30pm. This caught me completely off guard, as I couldn't find anywhere in the posts that specifically mentioned a separate 2:30pm cut-off for elected players.
I tried explaining my perspective — that the wording in the post seemed a little unclear, and that as someone completely new to the store and its process, I had genuinely believed I was following the rules as they were written. I asked whether there was any possibility of allowing me to play.
The response I received was, "I don't care if you're new here."
The receptionist then called the manager or owner, who made the final decision to remove my elected slot and place me into the walk-in queue instead. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut for the walk-in list and wasn't able to participate at all.
Miscommunication over timings aside, what disappointed me more was how the situation was handled.
As someone visiting the store for the first time, I left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome rather than simply disappointed about missing a game. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't see myself returning.
Edit - Missed out one screenshot
