is a comforter blanket combo for summer and winter actually a scam or do people really use them

our apartment has zero airflow and gets insanely hot during July, but the winter heating blasts dry and freezing air right against the windows.i am so sick of swapping heavy duvets every six months and having nowhere to put the bulky stuff in between.been eyeing a comforter blanket combo for summer and winter just to simplify things, but i'm scared it's going to either suffocate me in July or leave me shivering in January.does a single setup actually work for extreme seasonal swings or is it just marketing fluff?
