Acryonos is a unique brute wyvern recently discovered by the Hunter's Guild, charaterized by its large back sails and a ghostly appearance, they are native to polar and cold regions of the world. This brute wyvern primarily hunts Popos, their main hunting method is first stalking herds of popo and then, when they get close enough, Acryonos start to emit a thick, freezing mist from its tail to disorient and confuse prey before striking with sharp their sycthe-like claws, if it can't reach prey fast enough, they will often use their long snouts to snatch their targets from the safety of the fog.

Researchers, upon analyzing their body, found the unique mechanism that allows this type of hunt: Internally, it sucks in cold air through its sails on the back transforming them into a icy liquid using a specialized internal organ that will then transport the liquid down to the tail, when it is time to hunt, Acryonos will shake the tail as muscles inside heat up the liquid quickly enough to evaporate it, then, the openings on the tail release the powerful mist that engulfs rapidly the region around the wyvern in a freezing fog, this meticulous process allows the Acryonos to sneak upon prey and sucessfully catch it from the mist before it can even process what happened.

Hunters are advised to be careful, as Acryonos can show to be deceptively fast, they can vanish into their own mist in a blink of an eye, and if threatened enough, can even use the cold liquid stored on their back to transport it to their mouths, spitting a powerful icy breath that freezes targets in seconds.

Anjanath lacks two weapon types, Lance and CB - did the former as a digital art exercise. Always thought the coolest custom MH weapon designs were the ones attributed to existing monsters

A Monster Hunter game can have a huge roster while having each returning monster being unique and having a decent amount of new monsters introduced

As we know the 14 weapons currently within monster hunter, are in a decently tight equilibrium, you cant really say that one weapon is better than the other. So, if you were to add large gorilla fist weapons that would make hammer useless/less interesting, if you added the small, mobile fist weapons then sns and dual blades would lose a lot of their fans.

To try make a compromise, I think if fist weapons were to ever be added, it should be hyper reliant on combos, as in you have to do a 5 or 6 button combo to do any meaningful damage. Of course there can be a grace period for the combo string, like if you dodge an attack, you have 3 or 4 seconds to start the combo again.

This will make this weapon pretty difficult to learn, but then again cb mains exist, so players wont take too long to figure out how it works. Skills like burst and maximum might will be great for this idea of fist weapons too. And yes the akuma spec exists, but come on, we want an actual weapon not a special item.

If anyone had a similar idea or something close, please tell me about it I want to know your ideas. Im not sure if this topic has been discussed before so apologies if I sound like im copying someone.
