I can’t tell if this guy likes me or just likes having me around....
I (18F) started talking to this guy (19M) around the end of April after he replied to my IG note, and since then, we’ve hung out like 8 times already. We have known each other since high school, but never actually talked until now. In person he’s really playful and affectionate we hold hands while driving, he puts his arm around me, pulls me closer, teases me a lot, calls me cute names, tells me goodnight every night, and he even stalks my TikTok reposts I’m also literally the only girl he follows on TikTok.... The chemistry feels really genuine in person and we vibe well, but over text he gets super dry, especially after waking up. He works overnight shifts 7 days a week, barely sleeps, just started a new position at work, has car issues, and says himself that he hates texting and isn’t a texter. The issue is I feel emotionally confused because over text I feel like I carry conversations and he rarely asks me about my day/interests or deeper things unless we’re together in person. I really like him and I can tell there’s a softer side to him under the whole nonchalant/tough guy act, but I also got hurt badly in my last relationship so now I can’t tell if I’m overthinking because of my past or if I’m valid for feeling emotionally under pursued already. Does this sound like a genuinely interested but emotionally reserved/exhausted guy, or someone who likes the vibe/attention more than actually getting to know me? HELPPPP
