I noticed that a colleague that I at least get along with at work isn't in for a few days. Then he shows up on Tuesday. (since Thursday last week)

One of the other colleagues asks him and he says 'small medical procedure, not a big deal'

I shoot him a look, ju alas, mzee husemi ulikuwa mgonjwa (in my head)

He notices and says, ntakuchapia.

Over lunch hour he tells me he got a Vasectomy on Friday. And it needs like two days bedrest.

So obviously I am curious proper.. and I understand why he kept it to himself. It is not exactly something men are very open to. Or think is even an option na he didn't want to explain his choices.

Oh he doesn't have kids and is certain he doesn't want them. He is 34.

Here is what I learnt from him about the procedure:

1. Its quick. He said he couldn't believe they were done. Less than 30 minutes on the table.

2. Its a tiny incision according to him. It looks like a kascratch tu. They basically pull out the Vas deferens through that kashimo, cut and tie.

3. You just walk out mtu hawezi jua. Apparently he was dancing dancing afterwards. Akaambiaa atulie

4. The anaesthetic inadungwa straight kwenye masehem. Scrotum na lower side of the shaft. Ouch!!!

5. You cannot shower for 3 days after. Kujiwipe tu. But ata ni msimu wa baridi 😂

6. You have to take a check after 3 months to know if you still have sperm in your semen.

7. Ngono una resume after 7 days but with protection/pull out mpaka 3 months isha and you confirm that there arent any residual sperms
