New ND owner
Hey everyone!
I recently picked up a 2019 MX-5 ND and I’m absolutely in love with it. It’s going to be my year-round daily driver, which means it will also have to tackle the winter season.
I’m planning on doing my own maintenance and detailing to keep it in pristine condition. The underbody has already been professionally undercoated/rust-protected, and my own plan is to give the paint a proper sealant/coating and protect the soft top with a dedicated fabric protectant twice a year.
Since it's going to face road salt and cold weather, I’d love to hear your best tips beyond that. Specifically:
How do you best maintain and wash the underbody during winter when it already has an undercoating?
Are there any specific weatherstrips, drains, or seals I should pay extra attention to during the freezing months?
Any common quirks or mechanical maintenance areas on the ND that I should keep an extra eye on?
