Toyota Crown review: is it actually a luxury car?
I've been looking at the Toyota Crown as a potential upgrade and I'm trying to figure out if it's actually a luxury car. The price point is $45,000-$65,000 which puts it in the luxury range. From what I can tell, it has a luxury interior, advanced tech, smooth ride, and Toyota's legendary reliability. The warranty is solid and the build quality is excellent.
What's appealing about it is the value proposition, you get luxury features and reliability without the ultra-premium price tag of Mercedes or BMW. I've been reading that it competes with Lexus ES, Infiniti Q50, and Acura TLX. But I'm wondering if it's truly a luxury experience or just a premium-positioned Toyota. The question is whether the Crown delivers on luxury or if I should look at true luxury brands.
Is the Crown actually a luxury car or just premium? Have you owned one? What's the interior really like? How does it compare to Lexus ES? Is the reliability worth the trade-off for less prestige? Would you recommend it or should I look at true luxury brands? What about resale value? Is it worth the $45k-$65k price? Should I buy one or keep looking?
