People who wear the rib protectors without chest plates, are you not concerned by missing chest coverage and possible impact from steering wheel in case of crash ?

For safety, you want absolute best, so chest plate one is no brainer. However, i see many people use the rib only protector without chest plate and there's plethora of them in market even from best brands. so that means that just rib protection should be good enough and my concern is probably not valid.

So want to know from the people using the standard rib protection only if the steering wheel impact concern is genuine or just my phobia ?
