Leica M3 Mechanically Fine but All Frames Blank on Rolls
Spinning my wheels here trying to figure out what is going on with my Leica M3. I have shot multiple rolls (both black and white and color, both home development and lab development) and each of them has come back 99% blank (1-2 shots at the end of the roll have a partially exposed frame). I sent in the camera body to be looked at by YYe Camera and, mechanically, there was nothing wrong with it - the shutter fired properly at every speed.
I am certain this is not being caused by user error, as I have ensured that:
- I have no lens cap on any of the lenses I was using;
- all lenses seem to be functioning optimally;
- all test roll scenes were metered correctly and exposed properly;
- development chemicals and processes were optimal; and
- lenses were attached and locked into place prior to shooting.
YYe did say that both curtains on the M3 are hardened and that the short curtain's rubber side is filled with cracks. I'm assuming this may be the issue but i'm not noticing light leaks when i fire the shutter with the back off and look at the curtains in operation.
Anyone have any experience with this or have any solutions/advice?
