I’d like to recommend 3/4 tragic BE novels that I’ve read and barely completed but it is also so so painfully good writing. Just trying to spread the word about it.
Below are quotes from the novels that sold it for me. I tled the quotes myself cuz I only saved the Chinese quote so sorry for any errors!

Extra details: It started from a 140 words of Weibo post by caution不留客 so there really isn’t a proper summary as the summary is the whole plot. I’d say the really official full-fleshed story to be the audio drama, while there are many variations of the novel.
Context:
Set in the republican era (you know it’s gonna be bad), there is a man who became a groom thrice to the young master. The third time, caught by rebels, >!the two heads of the couple kowtowed and never rose again!<. They became husband and wife for life.
