My best friend is suffering
Jambi is a 7yo pitbull mix and has some type of skin issue. He has puss-filled spots pop up, when then scab over. There has been scabs and buildup on his snout for a long time but not to such a degree, and now problems are showing up everywhere. He has excessive buildup on his paw pads and he is struggling to walk because of it. He just lies down all day and will just star shaking.
We went to the vet and had a biopsy last year with inconclusive results. He has been on apoquel for over a month, and has been on 2 different antibiotics, currently enroflaxin for 3 weeks now. We had a lesion cultured and it was a common bacteria (I dont recall the type) but I just don't think that is the cause.
The vet has referred me out to our university dermatology department, but there are no appointments until late July. He is headed downhill and I'm at a loss.
