Stray cat behaviour
Hi everyone, I took in a stray cat two weeks ago. I think he’s around 10 months old. He’s not microchipped and he’s not fixed. I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow to be microchipped and neutered and have a check up. He’s settling in really well and is generally v friendly and so affectionate however he’s peed in the plant pots and on my washing and on my friends washing (don’t think it’s spraying just peeing) he also yowls in the night and in the morning and about once per day I think some of this behaviour is related to his hormones and not being neutered. However I’m worried that the behaviour is not gonna stop after he gets neutered. I’m trying to get lots of things to keep him entertained trying to do a good schedule, clean his litter box a lot and I’ve bought some plug-in diffusers. Where I live I think it’s safer for him to be an indoor cat. It doesn’t seem like he desperately wants to go outside anyway the yowling seems so generalised and not in relation to windows or doors. Does anybody have any advice? And do you think the neutering will stop these behaviours? Thanks
