I’m not sure if this type of post is allowed, so if not I apologize!

I’m currently deciding whether or not to bring home a new family member, and whether or not that family member should be a shih tzu.

I had a little dog for 17 long years and it wasn’t the experience I had hoped for. I wanted a little buddy to love and to take everywhere. I chose the wrong breed, maybe the wrong puppy. She was so cute, but very reactive. She didn’t like people or other dogs. She didn’t like to cuddle or sit close to people. I loved her and tried so hard to make her happier but eventually I just accepted her as she was.

She was a challenging little dog, but I honestly don’t think I would have been as regretful if she was sweeter towards me. I needed the rewarding part of being her mama, but she was pretty aloof lol!

I decided I would never get another dog, but just a few months after she passed I’m already thinking about it. I’m such an animal person. My husband and I have two spoiled kitty cats, but I still crave having that special little buddy. Could a shih tzu be that?
