Bulgarian tourist was bitten on the arm by a brown bear after he and his group illegally fed the animal from their car on Romania’s Transfăgărășan road near Vidraru Dam.

He was hospitalized but is recovering; he faces a fine.

This is the second such incident on the same road in a year — in 2025, an Italian tourist was killed by a bear while trying to take photos and feed it.

United Airlines Boeing 767 (Flight UA169) from Venice, Italy, clipped a light pole and struck a Schmidt Bakery tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike while on final approach to Newark Liberty International Airport on May 3, 2026.

The plane landed safely with no injuries to its 221 passengers or crew. The truck driver suffered minor/non-life-threatening injuries (cuts from glass) and was hospitalized; a Jeep was also hit by debris. Investigations by the FAA, NTSB, and United are underway.
