I didn’t know where to post but this is where I lived the longest so I figured maybe this is best.

Born and raised in the bay area, I moved to San Diego at 18 with my sister to live somewhat independently. Met a marine at 21, married, and moved to his state when he got out.
We currently live in KY and have for almost three years. It’s a beautiful state, but I hate it… nothing will ever compare to CA. All my family and friends are there. I basically work and go home and repeat. My husband is on board to move back if possible, we’re just worried about expenses. We have a few options and I sincerely feel overwhelmed and avoid thinking about it because this will be a hard move, but I’m kind of ready to do so. Here are some options we have:

House in Hemet for $1,500 a month from relative. Will probably have to commute at least an hr for a job. Will be hours away from family.

House in Sacramento for $2,500 a month from relative. Closer to family, unsure about job market there but could be a shorter commute.

Move in to parents house in Oakland for about $2,500 as well. We have two dogs though.

Move in to a studio or 1 bed apartment in San Francisco or San Diego, possibly with a roommate (another marine from NC) to keep rent manageable.

Stay in KY or go to NV and buy a house for <$300K.

All options will probably deplete our savings and obviously I am concerned about finding a job in this economy. Thankfully, we have minimal monthly expenses other than rent… but I really don’t know what to do. We make about $120K per year together currently. I know we could bring a lot more if we worked in CA.

I’d appreciate any genuine advice. Thank you so much!

Currently renting with Eden Properties and my lease doesn’t actually end until early June but they want at least three months notice if you plan not to renew. We signed the renewal in March but I just found out I’m three months pregnant… and I don’t know if it was the right choice.
We can’t afford to pay the lease buyout plus a deposit and rent at a new place.
Have they worked with anyone on this? Any ideas on how to avoid a lease buyout fee plus penalties?
If we have to we will have to just stay here for another year but we live in a one bed.
