Hi, i’m a 8.9 UTR looking to go college eventually, I know this isn’t exactly the best place to ask this but i’m just stuck at the moment. I got to 9.05 at my peak then dropped down a bit, after a round of shocking results.

How do I beat these players higher than me? I just feel stuck, I played a 10 UTR recently lost 2 and 2, but man every game was close and I constantly put the pressure on him, I just feel so close yet so far to this level I want to be at..

I had a good run late last year, where I went from a 8.2 to a 9 in the matter of 2 months. To be honest, to win those matches I was playing really safe and counter punchy, with a big/consistent serve. Put away short shots when needed and scrambled for every ball.

Now this year, I have a new coach and he wants me to be an all court player and more aggressive, more attacking, more dictating the points. It’s definitely a style im willing to play but the results simply aren’t coming through. Will this click eventually? Or should I go back to my bread and butter that got me wins last year

But then again the real bad matches i’ve lost this year were from me playing extremely defensive/tight and going back to my old style, leading to my worse losses yet. Tbf this year my serve has been not great in general, very inconsistent in matches and letting me down several times.

How do I make this jump, any advice from you guys?
