I was driving with a suspended license across the county (I don’t have a license in the state this occured, but a suspended license in the state where I’m from.) in my husbands insured and Registered vehicle belonging to him. There was a cop driving behind me, making me very anxious and uneasy, for no reason in the world. I was too focused on driving perfectly, perfect speed, perfect stance on the road and all. It was a muscle car and very loud so I could be going very without knowing because the car was obviously a sports car. So I was being super cautious with the cop behind me that I went right through the red light going 52-54 miles per hour. My visor was down, my seat was all the way up, I’m 5’0 so I’m high asf in the seat and it was sunny I just couldn’t see the light and it was a light hung on a string. I’m completely to blame I know I’m irresponsible. Ran right through the light with the cop behind me. However, the opposer tboned me while turning left on her light. It wasn’t a horrible accident but it was an accident. I am just worried about what’s going to happen to me, and what she is eligible to do to me. I’m waiting for my court date in the mail as I got 3 citations and 1 of them being suspended license. The other two failure to control speed at traffic light, failure to control speed to avoid collision. Also not to mention, I wasn’t hurt neither was she. She was checked by ambulance and the cop said she was 100% okay and I saw her as well, we were both 100% untouched.
I read I can go to jail when I appear in court, because my suspended license was from a DUI in the state I am from.
I was not intoxicated during the time of this incident.
