I got my applications out really late in the cycle, sliding in before the final deadlines for almost all of the schools. My primary selection criteria was proximity to family because I have two sets of aging parents and being near one of them is a must.

I misunderstood how CAS GPA is calculated and thought I had a 3.89. I should have found it on the LSAC website instead of relying on a calculator. Probably wouldn't have applied to a number of these schools if I would have known.

I'm in my mid-thirties and just spent two years teaching after a decade in operations management. I applied to Drexel and Southwestern's two-year programs because I would like to be practicing law before I am 40.

My goal is to work in labor law, ideally with unions.

A few questions for anyone and everyone willing to weigh in:

  1. Drexel > Southwestern, right?

Once accounting for CoL, the scholarship offers are basically the same. Drexel's summer start also lets me catch the last train on Grad Plus loans, which makes everything more feasible. Seattle's offer / total cost of attendance made it a non-starter for me.

  1. Am I correct in assuming that my late applications contributed to the slew of waitlistings?

  2. I'm pretty averse to waiting a cycle to apply again, but would it be worth it to try to transfer to a better school?
