Help for moving to a new home
I suddenly found out I’ll need to move out of my current place to some (undecided but more remote) new place. The move will happen in about two months, but I wasn’t expecting it. For reasons I’m sure you all can probably imagine (happy to clarify if needed though) this is giving me enormous anxiety. I hate moving. I’m having trouble forming some sort of strategy to make this easier. Looking it up online, I could only find advice targeting children (though some sounded useful to me too - like keeping a calendar for the move). But I could use any help anyone can give. My mind just keeps looping through different uncertainties that I can’t actually solve right now (“will my elder cat adapt ok?” / “what if one of my precious things get lost in the move” / “I won’t have as many options for food delivery there, will I manage to feed myself?”). Plus, I don’t know, grieving this sort of attachment I have built with this place.
I have a partner and fortunately they’ll handle most of the new home searching part, so that is not worrying me so much at least. If I had to do the looking I’m sure my brain would just melt.
Thanks in advance for any help.
