I was trying to boot Linix mint cinnamon from a usb stick for the first time on a Acer Aspire S24. I got into the Bios, chose to boot it from the usb drive and then the mint logo showed but then just blaclscreen. I left it for a few minutes thinking it would be booting but nothing happened, neither keyborad nor mouse would do anything and there was no sound coming from the PC. I pressed the start button long and pulled out the USB drive and tried starting the PC again but it didn't work. I unplugged it but that didn't help either. The USB drive doesn't seem to be the problem, i tried it on a different device and it worked just fine. Did I accidentaly kill my PC and if yes what did I do wrong and is there a way to fix it?

Any idea how old it is? I suspect it to be a book with (german) song texts from church in switzerland but i'm not sure.

edit. I looked into it a bit more and it seems that it was printed in 1711 in Ulm, Germany and the Pretext is written by David Algeuer, at that time head priest at the Ulmer Münster. Thank you everyone for your comments :)
