1 week at a chateau in Southern France
Photo 1–The packing plan: 3 layering pieces (even though it will be hot, these are all super lightweight, and I often prefer to have my arms covered), 3 merino tops, 3 bottoms (hiking pants that are light and comfortable but still tailored and 2 easy shorts), 1 bikini for the pool, 2 sundresses (for apero/dinner nights), flats for everyday wear, sneakers for activities, Uniqlo sling bag for the markets, baseball cap, and sunglasses!
Photo 2–The pack test layout: Includes the items from photo 1 minus what I intend to wear on the flight. Also included: shower/pool shoes (recommended by organizers), toiletries, wallet, little water bottle, meds, sleep essentials like earplugs and eye masks (I’m bunking!), a tiny hair straightener (for my unruly baby bangs), e-reader, journal, nippies for braless outfits, international adaptor and cord, pajamas, baggu, headphones, underwear and extra merino wool socks, neck pillow for flight (bulky, but I need it!), open story travel backpack
Photo 3–The items packed down: 1 stuffed packing cube for clothes, pjs, and bikini, shoes wrapped in a plastic bag and then my bandana, underwear packing cube, essentials in my sling, and then all the other items to be put in various zippers and pouches
Photo 4–The backpack view: with some room to spare! I’ll most likely move the headphones into my sling and throw the neck pillow in the backpack (or hook it from the outside somewhere)
Photo 5–The plane outfit: long pants, merino tank, linen top as a layering piece, other merino socks, merino bra, sneakers and baseball cap (not shown)
Photo 6-13–The potential outfit combos!
