Hi, I needed to upgrade my cpu and planned on keeping my video card.

I bought one of the Microcenter bundles that included a Gigabyte B850 Gaming X WiFi6E AM5 motherboard.

My video card is an EVGA RTX 2080.

When I tried to install everything tonight, I could not seat the video card. It seems like the video card heatsink is hitting the two heatsinks on the motherboard. One is for the nvme drives which I can take off. I don’t know what the other heatsink is for, maybe the chipset? But it doesn’t appear to be removable.

Is this normally an issue or am I doing something wrong? I don’t understand why they would buy tall heatsinks there.

What are my options if the video card just is t compatible with this board? Can I replace the cooling on the video card? Can I remove the other heatsink on the board? Do I have to buy a new video card and how do I know it won’t have the same problem?

Thank you!
