Ferret Escaped cage and went down a floor of the house to dig plants
I’m going to college soon and am living with my parents on the top floor since the house is close to the school. I have two ferrets, CAT and DEERE (my sister got creative freedom to name them and chose excavator names), Deere sleeps most of the time and cat is energetic. Today I went out to shop with my sisters and left them in the cage, it only took about an hour or two and the cage is three tier and has chicken wire to ensure no escaping. I put a bin lid at the bottom and put something heavy to block off the only way they could possibly get out, but I made the mistake of not closing my door and when I got home, Cat had pulled the wire up to get out, somehow pushed past the lid, and found a way to get downstairs to the first floor to dig up my mother’s plants, it scared me and I couldn’t find him for around 15 minutes with the help of my two sisters and in the end it was my eldest sister’s cat that helped us find him, her cat was watching him and we got him in a temporary cage so I could figure out what to do. The entire time this went down Deere had been in the cage asleep, I didnt expect him to try and escape anyways, and he proved me right, but I really thought the wire would work since it’s so hard to bend, but I knew not to underestimate Cat. Anyone got any tips?
