Hey, sorry if this isn’t the best tree to bark up, but it looks like r/buildapc doesn’t allow questions about prebuilts.
I was looking at getting my mom a new desktop for Mother’s Day, cause her current PC is ancient and it took a good 10 minutes for her to start up her PC (it might still be Vista?) and get her email opened up for 2FA when I was trying to get her signed into one of her accounts 😅
She’ll mostly browse/youtube/maybe browser based gaming so I’m not looking for a gaming PC by any stretch, but it seems like a lot of those lower-spec builds are going the way of mini-pc’s which are neat, but I keep reading that a lot of the times the budget miniPCs are a game of component roulette and have a lot of failures in the 1-2 year mark.
I’m hesitant to get a laptop cause Ma can’t see for shit at her age.
Most of my “tech support” is from a distance so I’m hoping for as “plug and play” as possible
I could maybe fumble through a build, but am hoping to be able to order something directly to her.
Anyway, if anyone has some good thoughts, I’m all ears. Otherwise, if this is the wrong place for the conversation don’t roast me too hard and I’ll delete it in the morning. Thanks y’all.
