Melody movement is back!

As almost everyone here in the sub, I've been obsessed with the new singles and loving them so far, and I think the Muse element is more present in these 4 singles than in most of their latest 2 albums. Big dramatic choruses, arpeggiating synths, odd time signatures (Hexagons I'm looking at you), bombastic guitar parts, it's all there. But something that I see no one talking about is the lack of melody movement that the last album had.

Take Blockades for example, probably one of the Musest songs in ST. The melody during the verses is always staying on the same note for whole bars for the occasional support note. But you could sing all of it in just one monotonous note and it'd be the same song. This is even worse on Will of the People (album), where this happens on most of it's songs. Compliance, WSD, YMMFLIH, Euphoria and WAFF are the worst contenders. I feel like this kinda started with Uprising, and it just never ceased, leading to an album where half of it has uninspring melodies.

Take any of the 4 singles released so far, these are the complete opposite. Everything, including the verses, is so melodical and covers a wide range, which was something quite missing in latest Muse songs, and something so present in it's most distinctive works. So yeah, I'm just so glad that we're getting a lot of really inspiring melodies with cool movements, I'm loving these tracks and think it'll probably be one of the best Muse albums so far.
