Moving into the Black Zone as a 4-man group: How to make Silver and learn PvP?

Hey everyone,

Me and 3 others from our guild want to start venturing into the Black Zone (BZ), and we’re wondering what the best approach is for a small group like ours—especially when it comes to making decent Silver.

Recently, we went into the BZ together and tried doing an open-world camp as a 4-man group. Two players showed up and completely wiped us. To be fair, none of us have any clue how PvP works yet, though most of us are really eager to learn.

However, after that death, one of our guys completely lost the motivation to do camps because he was too afraid of dying again. I tried telling him that dying is completely normal and just part of the learning process, since you have to risk a little to make good Silver out there. We ended up spending the rest of the night just blindly gathering enchanted resources and killing random mobs. Personally, I’m the type who actually wants to look for fights.

What are your tips for a group like ours?

  • What activities should we focus on as a 4-man squad to make Silver?
  • How can we help our gear-fear friend get used to PvP?
  • Any good BZ group comps or general advice for beginners?

Thanks in advance!

Should I stick with 1H Axe for PvP? (80/100 Spec)

Hey everyone :)

I’ve been playing mostly solo lately and I'm currently maining the 1H Axe combined with a Torch.

For PvE, I absolutely love this setup. The sustain and the buffs from the torch feel great. However, I’m really struggling to find my footing in PvP. I feel like I can’t effectively close the gap or pressure players who know how to kite.

My Axe spec is currently at 80/100. Now I’m at a crossroads:

1.Should I push through to 100/100 and just "git gud" at PvP with this weapon?

2.Is the 1H Axe + Torch combo even viable for solo PvP in the current meta?

3.Should I finish the spec for the passive bonus and then switch to a different weapon for PvP?

If you suggest switching, which weapon in the Axe tree (or elsewhere) would you recommend for someone who likes the aggressive playstyle but needs better PvP results?

Thanks for the Help :)

Why do people recommend focusing on only 1-2 gathering professions?

I keep seeing the advice that you shouldn't try to gather everything, but instead focus on just one or two resource types. To be honest, I don't really get why.

So far, I’ve leveled everything (except stone) to T5. My current routine in the Yellow Zone is:

  • I pick up every T5 resource I see.
  • For my main resources (Hides and Fiber), I also take the T4 versions.
  • I always gather enchanted nodes (.1, .2, .3), no matter what resource type it is.

I’m based in Bridgewatch—should I really start ignoring other resources and only focus on Hides and Fiber? What exactly is the logic behind specializing? Is it purely about efficiency, or will I run into problems later on if I keep being a "jack of all trades"?

Is it necessary to move to the Black Zone? (Solo Gatherer / Yellow Zone enjoyer

Hey everyone,
I’ve been playing Albion for about a month now and I’m wondering if I’m missing out or if I "must" eventually move to the Black Zone.
My current playstyle:
I’m based in Bridgewatch and play mostly solo.

I mainly focus on gathering resources and fishing.

I participate in Faction Warfare occasionally and farm faction chests.

I have a private island with two plots where I grow carrots.

I strictly stay in T5 Yellow Zones.

The main reason I haven’t touched Red or Black zones yet is the full-loot aspect; I really don't like the idea of losing my gear. However, I did try some Mists recently to get a tiny bit closer to the PvP side of things.
Is staying in the Yellow Zone a viable long-term playstyle? Or am I shooting myself in the foot by avoiding the high-risk zones? I’d love to hear some opinions on whether I should make the jump or stick to what I enjoy.
