Help from summer slipons/close-ish toed sandles
I made a post in Men's Fashion sub, still seeking anyone's experience in sourcing the right footwear with large feet.
>Hi,
>I just got some Soludos mules delivered. The brand seems popular, lots of great Reddit posts about them. But these are crazy heavy so there is zero chance of keeping them on my feet unless I walk uncomfortably slow. I'm perplex and not sure if I should swap into the non-mule version of the classic?
>Huarache's were my favorite but it seems like all the quality brands have switched to a foolish, stupid foam layer in them. In my experience that foam will de-laminate or tear within a week of normal use. I wouldn't hesitate to grab Nisolos if it weren't for that. Their Alejandro Woven look nice enough but leather soles don't last more than a few weeks for me because of a slight twist I do as I walk, on the balls of my feet. Maybe I could have rubber glued to them?
>My heels are not wide, but my front foot is a bit so in the past I haven't had much trouble with Huarache's stretching a touch for me. I tried some direct from Mexico but many of them are too long or too narrow. Nisolos were perfect in the past.
>I'd love some thoughts on summer wear. My aim is to have something light, sockless (not smelly like toms), and natural fibers that touch me. Arch support isn't necessary at all for me, I'm comfortable in completely flat footwear or supportive running shoes. The one thing I won't do because of rocks is completely open toe.
>I suspect I'd shred RopeySoles. I'm a tall muscular man who walks a lot.
>Rivieras with cotton uppers might be nice? If I ever see them in my size in stock. Anyone have experience with sizing?
>Apologies to anyone who doesn't like a post like this. I get it. But the start of every summer makes me want to scream. It's a full time job to find something and I often go without.
