R&C 2002 Unreleased Cutscenes Music

Hi!

It all started very simply: in 2026, a friend introduced me to this franchise and made me play the first game on a PS2 emulator. And I really loved that game, that universe. I also really loved the music in the game. I noticed that some tracks were never released. More specifically, the music from the cutscenes. Obviously, there was never an official release of the game’s soundtrack, and without it, it’s very hard to get these tracks. But nowadays there are more advanced methods for separating vocals from instrumentals, and I was surprised that no one had done this yet (at least I couldn’t find anything like that). So, I decided to extract all the music from the cutscenes myself. And once I did that, I realized I could share it with other fans. I also added most of the music from the gameplay, and that’s how this compilation was born!

This album consists of 4 folders. The first contains all the main material: cutscene music, gameplay music (mono), music from some levels in the beta, as well as music from the game's official commercials. The second folder is a separate collection of all the "transitions" between levels. The third contains fan-made stereo versions of the gameplay music, created by Xotla. And the fourth folder contains various images I created for this album.

You’ve already seen almost all of the material here, so I just want to clarify what I personally contributed. The unreleased music in this collection has several notes. The tracks with no additional notes are simply music from cutscenes. Those marked "(Full)" mean that this composition is repeated very often in various cutscenes (just different fragments of it), and everything indicates that it’s a single track. I simply compiled fragments from all the cutscenes into a single complete track. And the ones marked "(Mix)" mean that I’m not sure if it’s a single track—and most likely it isn’t—but it’s been treated as a single track because it makes sense within this particular album.

Of course, it’s impossible to produce a track that’s completely clean. I really did everything I could to remove the background noise, but some sounds may still be present, and the overall sound quality might be poor. Some parts turned out really well quality-wise, and some... well, they’re just there... But I really hope you’ll be happy to hear more music from your favorite game. And now, a bit more detail about the new:

1. Ratchet / Clank's Escape – music from the opening scene. 2. Crash Landing (Full) – a montage of two cutscenes. Clank crashes on Veldin; Skidd McMarx crashes on Aridia. The scene with Skidd includes a bit more material that wasn't in the scene with Clank.

4. Hello Citizens of... – the first scene with Chairman Drek. 5. Ratchet Leaves Veldin – Drek watches as Ratchet and Clank leave Veldin. 6. My Name Is Ratchet – Ratchet gives Clank a name.

7. Chairman Drek's Theme (Full) – one of the most frequently recurring tracks in different cutscenes. It plays in many scenes involving Drek. It was hard to piece it all together, because some fragments might not have been a continuation of the track, but the same fragment from the previous cutscene. But I think I managed to put together something that resembles a complete version.

12. Got New Weapon! – a short fanfare.

24. Commercials Sources (Mix) – a mix of three different cutscenes showcasing a new gadget. I'm not sure if it's a single track, but the instrumental and context are similar.

30. News Report (Mix) – consists of two distinct segments. The first is a short TV fanfare from a Darla Gratch report. The second part is taken from a cutscene in "Blag's TV" and sounds like "typical TV news music".

11. Big Al's Roboshack Commercial; 35. Qwark's Course Commercial; 44. Pokitaru's Resort Commercial; 51. Drek's Oltanis Plans – the title speaks for itself.

59. Drek's Planet Fanfare (Full) – This track plays during three different cutscenes. Some are shorter, some are longer. I’ve done my best to compile the most complete version possible (my favorite in terms of sound quality).

64. Drek Defeated; 65. Ratchet & Clank – the final cutscenes.

66. R&C2002 Commercial Music – music from the game's commercial. It's impossible to say for sure who wrote it; it may not be David Bergeaud.

I also want to mention that this compilation wasn’t made possible by me alone. I used a lot of material that was already available online, namely, work by other fans (for example, the stereo versions created by Xotla Games). Therefore, the existence of this album is actually made possible by the work of many dedicated fans, whom I unfortunately cannot name (because I simply don’t know their usernames). My work here was limited to extracting the music and voice lines from the cutscenes, as well as organizing all the material into one large compilation. And of course, I HAVE NO RIGHTS TO THIS MATERIAL. All rights belong to the original music authors and their rights holders. This compilation is simply a fan project for other fans and does not claim to be an official release. I hope I was able to bring you joy with my work on this compilation! Thank you for your attention!
