Seems Muse have been saved from trainwreckoreds
Seriously, Muse have been putting out mediocre albums for over a decade now and then they just drop the best album of their career since Black Holes and Revelations.
I would have thought since Drones (to a lesser extent, The 2nd Law) that Muse were finished. They would just put out music that would appease the live performances while also trying to sound like Queen.
Turns out, all Muse needed to do was not sing about vague politics and trying to sound like Queen and instead lean into their classical influences while also making the heaviest album of their discography which also has some of the popiest chord progressions they’ve done so far.
All while having corny lyrics like “Cryogen, I’ll never cry again” and going all out singing about “The Sixth Dimension”
This is not only a good record, but a great record, and we possibly lost out on a great trainwreckoreds episodes because of it.
Fuck you Muse for making great music again
