Every time i see one of these on the WC broadcast, i keep thinking its a TARDIS.
Does anyone know what it actually is?

Does anyone know what it actually is?
They’re gonna be fawned over at first before a finale hits and out come the pitchforks. And no matter how valid the hard feelings might be, many are gonna campaign to have their heads on a pike. It never changes. Sorry if I can’t cheer for RTD’s sacking because, well, it’s only a matter of time.
Look, we all need to do a mental exercise where we tell ourselves, “This showrunner and I will have differing ideas on what works for Doctor Who and that’s okay. I can’t control the show but I can control how I act on my anger.”
Because… the show can’t please everyone. Some like the Doctor as the oncoming storm with space street cred while others want their space traveling hobo’s antics. Some like their companions down to earth while others want to be as away from earth budget be damned. Some actually liked Chris Chibnall’s seasons warts and all.
What I appreciated about RTD2 was it being unapologetically itself warts and all. I won’t spare the notes on what I’d have preferred but I also fear influencing the show in any way. I do not want that target on my back.
The show won’t cater to my exact tastes and that’s okay.
I just had an idea what would happen if you were to put a bin over a Weeping Angels head would they start freaking out and wonder why they can't see and move in front of me or would they just always be quantum locked or as soon as I run away would they just take it off?
I’m new at polymer clay but I had to give a shot at a doctor Who inspired piece. Amy Pond, the girl who waited.
This is magnificent.
Whats the general consensus on which episode left the biggest scar?
Journeys End
When Donna is talking in the Tardis we all know something is about to happen. The Doctor is staring at her and looks sad.
When things start to go wrong and she starts repeating words "binary, binary, binary, binary, binary...." we all know whats happening. Its devastating watching it play out in this way, saying goodbye in the cruelest way possible.
For me I really struggled with this ending and it took me a while to recover.
End of Time Part 2
The moment when Wilf knocks 4 times honestly ripped my heart out. I was already an emotional wreck knowing it was Tennants last episode.
Seeing the Master sacrifice himself and telling the Doctor to "Move out of the way" so he could take down Rassillon is such an epic moment. For a few seconds we all wonder if things might be ok when the Doctor says hes still alive.
But when the Doctor hears Wilf knock 4 times it hurts immediately. We all know its the end. When Wilf says "Just leave me" I completely broke down. It marked the end of the best Doctor we ever had.
Its obviously an objective subject and opinions will vary. But Im curious what the consensus is on which episode left the biggest emotional scar. For me its always when Wilf knocks 4 times. The first time I watched this happen I could barely watch. It felt like losing a friend, and I was in an emotional wreck for weeks after, very similar to mourning. I know that sounds a bit extreme, but this was my reality.
Does anyone agree or have a different opinion?
So far, it’s been a great Fourth! I hope you’re all having a great one. Hot dogs and genuine imitation grape soda (with cane sugar), tater tot’s, beans, ice cream and Doctor Who!
I completely get the complaint that "Tennant is always returning", but I can't help but feel it's always a bit overblown.
It would have been bizarre if the 50th had not been a multi-Doctor story, and even then we were almost cheating with a new incarnation (and a touch of eyebrows and a curator). Even though it had only been four year since 2009, there would have been a Tennant-sized gap in the 50th without him.
And then for a Doctor to return for three episodes 14 years after their final series? That's a lifetime in TV terms, heck it's not far off the original Wilderness Years gap.
I agree I'm not sure I'd want Tennant to pop up again tomorrow, but I also don't feel like it's been too much.
And so, as the title says, like... He's only popped up in one episode more than Donna in the years since.
I don't want more of him (for another decade), but I don't feel like I'd want less of him.
Nearly finished with my Clara space suit. This was a craaazy project but I’m pleased with how it’s turned out. Only a few bits left to do like some detailing on the collar thing & the vents on the front! Now…. Do I make the helmet? 🤣 (also forever bitter that Ncuti didn’t get to wear the iconic orange space suit) 💔
So we learn about the mummy and how it was a soldier in a forgotten war and had a thought to have a follow up episode where the 17th doctor goes back and fights along side the person who later becomes the mummy. They could also introduce new species on the war…etc
I've started re-watching the show (from the 2005 revival), and I am currently at 1x07 The Long Game.
I am amazed by the writing in this episode. (I missed so many things during my first watch years ago) Also, this episode was so much in the territory of Black Mirror. It was Black Mirror even before Black Mirror existed lol.
So, there's an alien and a big corporation that uses **Satellite 5 (**a massive media space station) to feed false information and control the human empire on Earth.
I am surprised how relevant the sociopolitical commentary in this episode is with our current times. (off-course not including the alien bit)
I'd argue that it has probably gotten even worse with Social Media and everything being driven by algorithms, paid campaigns etc.
And the thing is........ it is happening all over the world.
Can someone tell me why it would make more sense with someone suddenly leaving to even show us who the doctor turned into? We could have seen the start of regeneration and then it ended... I know thats unusual but frankly better than the mess we have now.
Also, if they wanted to not wreck Dr who canon why not just edit the episode and fix it with streaming platforms to not have her and end with him mid regeneration??
Obviously this would suck for her (paycheck) and choices were made. But im just curious. If this was such a mess to clean up why not think of other methods to clean it up?
Movies and TV shows are re-released with cut or altered material all the time.
And I know things arent that simple, but I would prefer it over it spiraling and now not happening anytime soon. Also we can skip a Christmas special and just make a new season when we do have things figured out. We dont need to hang on the Christmas special. IMO.
Anyways - I also understand where we are (within reason because there isnt a lot of transparency for some things) and its fine. Im mostly just upset my faborite show won't have anything new anytime soon.
Editing to add that I don't mean wrecked as ruined, but I sure do mean making a bit of a mess. Because it feels to me as it kind of has. Not unfixable. It's clear there are so many creative solutions and thats from what everyone here has said alone! Thank you all for joining in the conversation. It's very nice to read everyones thoughts.
Was there ever a planned payoff that got dropped, or was the whole point simply to be a running gag?
