Let's Talk About This Career Field
So I've been seeing a lot of similar posts in this sub with a lot of distressed colleagues. People struggling with the field, unsure where to go, burnt out by crappy bosses, or unsure if this career is for them. If you made a post about it in the past two months or so, chances are high I've already DM'd you and this post might highly resemble my DM...
This subreddit is great, seriously. It's the exact sort of sounding board for legal distress we need. I want to keep that going and am doing what I can through my local bar association. If you're in a spot where you want either a little advice, a sounding board, or just a bit of techniques that have helped others, I wanted to invite (any/all of) you to my bar associations upcoming talk on resiliency in the legal field. I do risk doxxing myself here. So please be cool.
This is tough field. I've seen a lot of lawyers burn out, been burnt out myself, seen a lot of old lawyers suffer the consequences of not fixing it/not focusing on it. All to say, a lot of us have been beaten up by this field, and we want to help. It's not therapy, but it's a remote talk geared towards helping all of us be resilient in a tough career path, and won't cost more than an hour of your time. It's with the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association. Here's a link for more info.
